No. TeachSmart is available to any Texas family. If you have TEFA funds, TeachSmart services may qualify as eligible educational expenses — but ESA funds are not required to enroll. You can sign up directly and pay monthly with no contract.
TeachSmart is working toward approval as a vendor on the Texas TEFA Odyssey Marketplace. Once approved, ESA families will be able to purchase plans directly through Odyssey. In the meantime, families can enroll directly at standard pricing. We’ll update our site as soon as our vendor status changes.
TeachSmart provides parent-facing educational support services — writing evaluation, curriculum planning, diagnostic assessments, compliance reporting, and IEP progress tracking — all aligned to Texas TEKS standards and all delivered to parents and guardians. We support you as the parent-educator at home.
No — and that’s by design. All TeachSmart services are delivered to parents and guardians. Your child’s work (like writing samples) is submitted by you and feedback is returned to you. Our live Q&A sessions and workshops are for parents and guardians. You remain the educator — we give you the tools and support to do it with confidence.
The IEP Progress Tracker is a parent-facing documentation and progress tracking tool for families managing special education at home. It helps you organize IEP goals, generate formatted weekly progress notes, and maintain organized, exportable records. TeachSmart does not provide legal, medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, or special education evaluation services. Families with contested IEPs should consult a licensed advocate or attorney. Included in the Complete plan ($99/mo).
